Local Access:

Local access is what Steelville Telephones requires subscribers to pay to have dial tone.

Federal Access:

Federal access is a charge ordered by the Federal Communications Commission for all multi-line businesses, Centrex, and residential customers. All multi-line business and Centrex telephone customers may pay $9.20 per line per month, and all single line business and residential customers must pay $6.50 per month.

Missouri Relay:

Relay Missouri is a charge ordered by the State of Missouri which makes it easier for Missourians who are deaf, hearing impaired, or speech impaired to communicate over the telephone network with voice users.

Inside Wire:

Maintenance Contracts are available from the Telephone Company. The cost is 75 cents per month to maintain all of the inside wires and jacks for one line, or number, on one premises. If we have to repair your wiring and you do not have a maintenance agreement, the charge will be parts plus labor. This charge is optional.

Federal Universal Service Fund Program

Is designed to help keep local telephone
service rates affordable for all customers, in all areas of the United States. A 10.2 % rate
is charged on Federal Access and DSL Line Charges.
