The following are the monthly charges for Residential and Business subscribers per month per line.
Local Access: Local access is what Steelville Telephones requires subscribers to pay to have dial tone. STE has also provided in the local access to residential customers, at no charge, the following custom calling services: call waiting, call forwarding, and call return (automatic recall). Federal Access: Federal access is a charge ordered by the Federal Communications Commission for all multi-line businesses, Centrex, and residential customers. All multi-line business and Centrex telephone customers may pay $9.20 per line per month, and all single line business and residential customers must pay $6.50 per month. Missouri Relay: Relay Missouri is a charge ordered by the State of Missouri which makes it easier for Missourians who are deaf, hearing impaired, or speech impaired to communicate over the telephone network with voice users. Inside Wire: Maintenance Contracts are available from the Telephone Company. The cost is 75 cents per month to maintain all of the inside wires and jacks for one line, or number, on one premises. If we have to repair your wiring and you do not have a maintenance agreement, the charge will be parts plus labor. This charge is optional. Federal Universal Service Fund Program Is designed to help keep local telephone service rates affordable for all customers, in all areas of the United States. A 17.4 % rate is charged on Federal Access and DSL Line Charges. If you need any further information regarding any of these charges, please contact the business office. Access Recovery Charge: Enables Steelville Telephone to recover from end user customers a limited portion of revenues lost due to FCC mandated reductions in access revenues. |

Lifeline, and Toll Limitation Service support provide discounts to eligible low-income consumersto help them establish and maintain telephone service.
Eligibility for Lifeline, and TLS support varies by state. Individuals who reside in states that have their own discount programs qualify for federal Lifeline, and TLS support if they meet the eligibility criteria established by their state. In states that do not provide state support, an individual is eligible if he or she participates in one of the following programs:
